HIMA
HIMA Group was founded in 1908 and is headquartered in Bruhl, near Mannheim, Germany. It initially focused on industrial safety automation solutions. Since the 1960s, HIMA has gradually become a leading supplier of safety automation systems for the global process industry (such as chemicals, oil, and natural gas) and the railway industry.
In 2023, HIMA acquired Sella Controls, a company specializing in railway signaling systems and building management, to enhance its business in railway automation. In 2024, HIMA acquired Norwegian technology company Origo Solutions to strengthen its safety automation business in renewable energy (particularly the wind power industry) and offshore oil and gas facilities. In 2025, HIMA established subsidiaries in multiple regions worldwide, including India and Colombia, to support high-growth market demand.
Currently, HIMA's core business encompasses process industry safety, railway automation, digital safety solutions, and next-generation intelligent controllers, serving global industries such as energy, chemicals, and transportation.
1. Industrial Process Safety Systems
Such as Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD) for high-integrity safety control in the chemical, petrochemical, and oil and gas industries; Fire and Gas Systems (F&G) for monitoring and protecting against fires and gas leaks; Burner Management Systems (BMS/BCS) for optimizing industrial combustion processes and enhancing safety; and Pipeline Protection Systems (PMC/HIPPS) for preventing pipeline overpressure and leaks.
2. Railway Safety Solutions
Such as level crossing control systems; signal interlocking systems; and onboard safety systems, etc.
3. Digital and Intelligent Safety Products
Such as the SCADA+™ system for monitoring and control in the wind power industry, safeHMI**, and AI-based remote diagnostic systems for predicting safety system failures.
4. Next-Generation Safety Controllers (HIQuad X)
The fourth-generation central module launched in 2025 supports higher computational performance and modern safety standards (such as IEC 61511 and IEC 62443), suitable for industrial automation upgrade requirements.
