Emerson
Emerson Electric was founded in 1890 and is a leading global industrial automation and process control technology company headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, USA.
From the 1970s to the 1990s, Emerson strengthened its process control and automation business through a series of acquisitions of automation companies. Notable acquisitions include Rosemount in 1976, Copeland in 1986, and Fisher Controls in 1993. During this period, Emerson also acquired the process control division of Westinghouse.
Starting in 2000, Emerson began expanding into the Asian market, acquiring Chinese companies such as Ansheng Electric and Huawei Electric, as well as Indian Network Energy Company. Notably, Emerson entered China in 1979 and has since established over 20 factories and 15 R&D centers. China has become its second-largest market, with 80% of its operations localized.

Among these acquisitions, the most noteworthy is Emerson's acquisition of EPRO.
epro GmbH was founded in Germany in 1970 as a factory under the European Philips Group. In 1992, the company became independent as epro Electronic Systems GmbH. Beginning in 1997, epro developed the MMS6000 rotating machinery monitoring system—representing the most advanced technology internationally at the time—based on Philips' RMS-700 turbine monitoring and protection system. In 2009, Emerson completed the acquisition of all shares in epro GmbH. Since then, epro has become part of Emerson's Process Management Asset Optimization portfolio alongside brands such as Fisher, Micro Motion, Rosemount, DeltaV, and Ovation.
From 2010 to the present, Emerson has undergone strategic restructuring of its divisions through continuous acquisitions. In 2016, it acquired Pentair's valve and control business to enhance its process automation capabilities. In 2018, it acquired GE Intelligent Platforms and Aventics to expand into the discrete automation market. In 2023, it acquired National Instruments and Swiss Afag (electric automation) to strengthen its testing, measurement, and factory automation capabilities. From 2021 to 2024, it will acquire AspenTech in phases to integrate its industrial software business.
After years of development, Emerson has gradually expanded its international market position in industrial automation through strategic mergers and acquisitions and business restructuring, becoming a global industrial automation giant. Its core businesses currently cover multiple fields, including process control, discrete automation, industrial software, and test and measurement:
1. Process Automation and Control
Such as Rosemount pressure transmitters, temperature sensors, etc.; Fisher control valves, digital process controllers, etc.
2. Discrete Automation and Motion Control

3. Industrial Software and Digital Solutions
Such as AspenTech process optimization software for the chemical and energy industries; National Instruments test and measurement systems supporting smart manufacturing, etc.
