Function & Details	The 216VC62A is a Central Processing Unit (CPU) within the ABB REG216 generator and generator-transformer protection system, featuring powerful data processing and storage capabilities. The processing unit is equipped with a 32-bit processor (Model: 80486DX-2); application software is stored in Flash EPROM, operational data is stored in RAM, and system configuration parameters are stored in non-volatile Flash EPROM. The data and settings stored within this processing unit include library files for all available protection and logic function software modules, user settings for all enabled functions, protection configuration parameters, and the assignment schemes for input/output signals. The 216VC62A processing unit delivers up to 425% of the computing power of its predecessors and serves as the core processor for the ABB REG216 generator protection system. The processor features a built-in memory power supply that ensures stable power delivery and continued operation even in the event of a power interruption, thereby enabling the complete and reliable preservation of real-time operational data for generator-related equipment. Furthermore, the 216VC62A processing unit can function as an Interbay Bus (IBB) interface within Substation Monitoring Systems (SMS) and Substation Automation Systems, supporting a wide range of communication protocols including the SPA bus, LON bus, MCB Interbay Bus, and MVB Process Bus. Among these, the SPA bus interface is a standard feature and is always available, whereas the LON and MVB protocols require transmission via a PC card.
