The 216GA61 is a trip relay unit in ABB's REG216 generator protection system. It is primarily used for timely tripping and relay protection when potential equipment failures or hazardous conditions are detected. The 216GA61 trip relay unit is equipped with 16 auxiliary relays K1...K16, which have passive contacts for receiving remote signals. The auxiliary signal relays K1...K16 are controlled by the 216AB61 binary output unit and draw auxiliary power from the auxiliary DC voltage UP. The basic control circuit and contact wiring of the signal relays in the 216GA61 unit are shown below.
The ABB REG216 system is a generator protection system released by ABB, currently available in two versions: REG 216 and REG 216 Compact. This system can be used to protect generators and generator transformers across a wide range of power levels, such as hydroelectric, pumped storage, gas, combined cycle, steam, and cogeneration power plant units. This protection system provides continuous and comprehensive monitoring and protection capabilities, enabling immediate alarm and recording in the event of equipment failure. The continuous and comprehensive monitoring and protection functions of this protection system rely on the combined efforts of a series of protection devices, such as the 216GA61 trip protection unit. |
