The 216EA62 is an analog input unit in the ABB REG216 generator protection system. It is primarily used to acquire and transmit equipment signals fed back from field devices, converting them into voltage and current signals that can be read by the internal equipment of the REG216 protection system. The 216EA62 can simultaneously sample 24 input signals, in groups of 6. The sampling frequency is 600 (720) Hz, and the power supply frequency is 50 (60) Hz. Two rack-mount compartments are required for installation.
The REG216 system is a generator protection system released by ABB, currently available in two versions: REG 216 and REG 216 Compact. This system can be used to protect generators and generator transformers across a wide power range, such as hydroelectric, pumped storage, gas, combined cycle, steam, and cogeneration power plant units. The protection system provides continuous and comprehensive monitoring and protection functions, and can immediately alarm and record faults. The continuous and comprehensive monitoring and protection functions of this protection system rely on the combined efforts of a series of input/output devices, such as the 216EA62 analog input unit.
