216AB61 ABB REG216 Binary Output Unit

The 216AB61 is a REG216 Binary Output Unit in the REG216 generator protection system. The 216AB61 output unit transmits signals generated by the activated protection function to auxiliary relays K1...K16 in the 216GA61 output relay unit for remote signal transmission. This unit has 32 output channels, and a single 216AB61 unit can control two 216GA61 output relay units. Connector "a" (upper) connects channels CHO01...CHO16, and connector "b" (lower) connects channels CHO17...CHO32. Output channels CHO01 and CHO02 of the first 216AB61 unit in the system are reserved for system alarm signals. All 32 output channels of the second 216AB61 unit in the system can be used for active protection function signals. This output unit is a plug-in unit with a width of one standard division (1T). The internal auxiliary power supply voltage is 5V, provided by the unit's internal 24V auxiliary DC power supply. The main components of this unit include the bus interface, output registers and output monitors, and output driver stage. Front Panel Signals and Controls:
