The V18345 series is an electronically configurable positioner from ABB. All operating control parameters are automatically determined internally by the positioner. It features communication capabilities and is designed for installation on pneumatic linear or rotary actuators. The V18345 positioner boasts a compact, modular design, ease of commissioning, robustness, and stable operation over a wide temperature range of -40 to 85 °C, demonstrating strong environmental adaptability.
The V18345 positioner uses an I/P module with a subsequent pneumatic amplifier to control the pneumatic actuator. The proven I/P module proportionally converts the permanent electrical positioning signal from the CPU into a pneumatic signal for continuously regulating the pressurized or depressurized airflow of the three-way valve and actuator. The positioner is available in four different pneumatic versions: suitable for single-acting or double-acting actuators, each with fail-safe or fail-free functionality. The V18345 positioner features a built-in operator panel with a 2-line LCD display and 4 buttons for configuration, commissioning, and operational monitoring. The standard version of the positioner model is equipped with a local communication interface (LKS connector) and also offers a HART communication option, which can communicate via a 20 mA signal. Both communication methods are based on the HART protocol. The basic model can be equipped with optional modules for analog or digital position feedback or a stop module at any time. In addition to the input for analog position setpoint, the V18345 TZIDC positioner also features a digital input that can be used to activate various protection functions in the equipment through the process control system. |
