The RLC16 (Model 200-570-000-111) is a relay card within the Meggitt VM600 series, primarily utilized in VM600 series machinery protection systems as well as condition and performance monitoring systems. This relay card receives alarm signals from monitoring modules—such as those for vibration and displacement—and employs its 16 onboard relay outputs to actuate devices for emergency shutdowns, alarms, and other functions, thereby providing protection for large-scale rotating machinery such as steam turbines and compressors. As an optional module, the RLC16 serves to provide additional relay capacity when the four built-in relays on the standard IOC4T Input/Output card are insufficient to meet specific application requirements.
The RLC16 is installed at the rear of the VM600 rack (models ABE04x or ABE056) and connects directly to the rack's backplane via a single connector. The RLC16 (Model 200-570-000-111) relay card integrates 16 relays, each featuring changeover contacts; each relay is wired to three specific terminals on the screw-terminal connector located at the rear of the VM600 rack and is driven by an open-collector driver under software control. The RLC16 relay card features low contact resistance and low capacitance, yet offers high power switching capability and supports hot-swapping. By adjusting jumper settings on the RLC16 card, users can configure the relays to operate in either Normally Open (NO) or Normally Closed (NC) mode. |
