VM600 rack-mount monitoring system

The VM600 rack-mount monitoring system is designed to protect and monitor large rotating machinery in the power generation and oil and gas industries, such as gas, steam, and hydro turbines, generators, as well as smaller machinery such as compressors, fans, motors, pumps, and propellers, and auxiliary equipment (BOPs). The VM600 is particularly effective when a centralized monitoring system with a medium to large number of measurement points and channels is required.
The VM600 system consists of a 19-inch rack, a rack power supply, and one or more pairs of monitoring cards. Optional relay cards, rack controllers, and communication interface cards are also available. The rack is typically installed in a standard 19-inch rack cabinet or enclosure within an equipment room.
The VM600 rack is available in two types: the VM600 ABE04x System Rack (6U), which accommodates up to 12 pairs of monitoring cards, and the VM600 ABE056 Slim Rack (1U), which accommodates a single pair of monitoring cards.
Various VM600 monitoring cards are available for machinery protection, condition monitoring, and/or combustion monitoring applications. Examples include the MPC4/IOC4T machinery protection card pair and the AMC8/IOC8T analog monitoring card pair, as well as the XMV16/XIO16T vibration monitoring card pair and the XMC16/XIO16T combustion monitoring card pair.
The CPUx/IOCx rack controller and communication interface card pair (CPUM/IOCN, CPUR/IOCR, or CPUR2/IOCR2) are optional cards that provide additional VM600 system functionality, such as configuration management, hot-swap functionality with automatic reconfiguration, a front panel display, CPUx/IOCx card pair redundancy, fieldbus data processing, a front panel Alarm Reset (AR) button, MPS rack (CPUx) security, system event and measurement event logging, fieldbus communication (Modbus, PROFIBUS, and/or PROFINET), and/or communication redundancy.
The CPUx/IOCx cards are available in different combinations:
• The CPUM/IOCN card is the standard version, equipped with a front panel display and supporting Modbus RTU/TCP and PROFINET (PNR 200-595-VVV-VVV).
• The CPUR/IOCR card is equipped with rack controller redundancy and supports Modbus RTU/TCP (PNR 600-007-VVV-VVV).
• The CPUR2/IOCR2 card provides fieldbus data math functionality and supports Modbus TCP and PROFIBUS DP (PNR 600-026-000-VVV).
The CPUM/IOCN card pair is designed for use with the VM600 ABE04x system rack. The CPUM card can be used alone or in a pair with an associated IOCN card, depending on the application/system requirements. The CPUM is a double-width card that occupies two VM600 rack slots (card slots), while the IOCN is a single-width card that occupies one VM600 slot. The CPUM is installed in the front of the rack (slots 0 and 1), and the associated IOCN is installed in the slot directly behind the CPUM in the rear of the rack (slot 0). Each card connects directly to the rack backplane via two connectors. The CPUM/IOCN card pair is compatible with all VM600 ABE04x system racks.
