Piezoelectric sensors, such as CAxxx piezoelectric accelerometers and CPxxx dynamic pressure sensors, provide charge outputs and require external signal conditioners. The IPC707 244-707-000-012 is a signal conditioner used for charge amplification and external signal conditioning of sensors containing piezoelectric sensing elements. The IPC707 converts the charge signal from the piezoelectric sensor into a current or voltage output, which is transmitted to the monitoring system via a standard current (two-wire) or voltage (three-wire) transmission cable. The IPC707's output signal is an analog signal consisting of a dynamic measurement component (AC) and a quasi-static diagnostic component (DC), equipped with configurable output stages to provide current or voltage output as needed. The IPC707 signal conditioner is compatible with a variety of piezoelectric materials and can replace the earlier IPC704 signal conditioner.
The IPC707 244-707-000-012 signal conditioner includes an RFI filter to protect inputs and outputs from radio frequency and other electromagnetic interference (EMI); configurable high-pass (HP) and low-pass (LP) filters are available. An integrator for providing speed output and a configurable amplifier are optional. The IPC707 signal conditioner can be equipped with diagnostic circuitry for automatic, continuous, remote monitoring and indication of faults in sensors, cables, and the signal conditioner, helping to ensure safe and reliable equipment operation and extend its lifespan. Using CAxxx or CPxxx measurement chains and configuring the IPC707 signal conditioner as a current output and GSI127 electrical isolation unit, transmission distances up to 1 km can be achieved.
