The CA201 144-201-000-222 is a piezoelectric accelerometer employing a symmetrical shear-mode polycrystalline measuring element with an insulated internal housing. It is designed for heavy-duty industrial vibration monitoring and measurement. The accelerometer comes with an integrated cable protected by a flexible stainless steel tube welded to the housing. A high-sensitivity version of the CA201 144-201-000-222 accelerometer is available, certified by CENELEC.
Both the Meggitt CA201 and CA202 piezoelectric accelerometers are two-wire sensors suitable for vibration monitoring in extreme environments. Both have a sensitivity of 100 pC/g ±5%, an insulated housing, and are charge-output type, requiring an external charge amplifier. Both are explosion-proof certified. However, compared to the CA201 piezoelectric sensor, the CA202 has a wider usable frequency range (0.5 Hz to 6000 Hz), twice that of the CA201, making it more suitable for high-frequency vibration monitoring. The CA202 also has a higher measurement limit (400g) and can withstand greater vibration impacts, while the CA201 can sense much weaker vibrations. The CA201's base strain sensitivity is ≤ 10⁻⁵ g/µε, significantly lower than that of the CA202, meaning it has stronger anti-interference capabilities when the object's surface is deformed or bent. Therefore, when choosing between these sensors, the CA201 is more suitable if measuring weak vibrations or where the mounting surface is prone to change. If the primary measurement is of vibrations in conventional industrial equipment with relatively high intensity, or if monitoring higher frequency vibrations is required, the CA202 is more suitable. |
