The Woodward 9907-1200 current-to-pressure converter (CPC-II) is primarily used for positioning steam/fuel valves and related servo systems. The CPC-II provides precise and stable hydraulic control pressure proportional to the (4 to 20) mA input current signal. The CPC-II is easy to install and maintain; its manifold-mount housing allows direct mounting to hydraulic adapters/manifolds and supports redundant configurations. Key components of the 9907-1200 second-generation current-to-pressure converter include:
1. Housing: The 9907-1200 current-to-pressure converter's housing is made of anodized aluminum casting to house other components. A four-bolt internal thread interface provides primary mounting support for the fluid interface, while a locking latch ensures proper assembly of the cover onto the equipment. The housing has an IP66 protection rating, conforming to IEC EN 60529. A return spring drives the bottom of the hydraulic valve within the lower chamber of the assembly. When the equipment is powered off, the return spring moves the hydraulic valve to the control (output) pressure port and outputs pressure to the tank/drain port. 2. Rotary Hydraulic Valve: The converter's three-way rotary valve controls the flow of hydraulic fluid from the supply port to the control (output) port and from the control port to the return port. The valve consists of a stainless steel shaft that rotates within a perforated stainless steel sleeve, ensuring precise, reliable, and contamination-resistant operation with fluids commonly used in industrial turbine lubrication. 3. Actuator: The CPC-II employs a rotary limit torque (LAT) actuator. A permanent magnet rotor is directly coupled to the hydraulic valve. The rotor's position is measured by a solid-state integrated circuit on the PCB, which detects the direction of the induced magnet on the shaft. The H-bridge drive is regulated by a microprocessor to precisely control the actuator, thereby maintaining the pressure setpoint. 4. Printed Circuit Board: The printed circuit board is mounted on the top of the housing. The printed circuit board performs the following tasks:
