Woodward 9907-014 is a 2301A Standard Speed Control. It is a member of the 2301A Speed Control System. The 2301A Speed Controller regulates the speed or load of diesel engines, gas engines, steam engines, or gas turbines. This controller features a metal plate chassis housing a printed circuit board. All potentiometers are accessible from the front of the chassis.
The 2301A Speed Controller provides isochronous mode control and implements droop control via externally wired potentiometers. Isochronous mode controls the prime mover to maintain constant speed when capable of supplying the load. Isochronous mode is also employed when load sharing with Woodward load sensors.
The 2301A Prime Mover System includes: • 2301A Electronic Speed Controller • External Power Supply • Speed Sensing Device (MPU) • Proportional Actuator for positioning fuel or steam metering devices

| Application |
The 2301A Speed Controller is suitable for direct or reverse-acting applications and can be used with single or dual actuators. High-voltage models accept 88 to 132 Vac or 90 to 150 Vdc power supplies. Low-voltage models accept 10 to 40 Vdc power supplies.
In reverse-acting systems, the actuator requires increased fuel flow when the actuator current decreases. If the actuator current signal is completely lost, the actuator will reach full fuel flow. In this case, the backup mechanical ball-type governor takes over control instead of shutting down the prime mover as in a direct-acting system. The external wiring for the reverse-acting controller is identical to that of the direct-acting controller.
