The TQ402 111-402-000-013 is a proximity sensor within the Vibro-Meter TQ40X near-field measurement system, designed to measure the relative vibration and axial position (gap) of shafts in mechanical equipment. It is primarily utilized for machinery protection and/or condition monitoring applications. Based on the eddy current principle, the TQ402 sensor performs non-contact measurements; it features a temperature-compensated design, provides either voltage or current output, and incorporates short-circuit protection capabilities. The TQ402 111-402-000-013 sensor offers a measurement range of 12 mm and a frequency response of DC to 20 kHz (-3 dB), enabling stable, long-term operation across an extreme temperature range of -40 to +180 °C. The sensor is available in system configurations with internal cable lengths of 5 meters and 10 meters; explosion-proof certified versions are also available for use in hazardous areas and potentially explosive environments. The sensor is compatible with the VM600Mk2/VM600 and VibroSmart® machinery monitoring systems; when used in conjunction with these systems, power is supplied directly by the respective monitoring unit.
The TQ402/TQ412 sensors, the EA402 extension cables, and the IQS900 signal conditioner collectively constitute a complete near-field measurement system. This system enables the non-contact measurement of the relative displacement of moving mechanical components, making it suitable for measuring the relative vibration and axial position of rotating machinery shafts—such as the main shafts of steam turbines, gas turbines, and hydro turbines, as well as the shaft trains of alternators, turbocompressors, and pumping equipment. The components within this near-field measurement system are fully interchangeable, and the resulting voltage or current output signal is directly proportional to the distance (gap) between the sensor probe tip and the target surface being measured. The TQ412 sensor is specifically designed for reverse-mount installation applications. Both the TQ402 and TQ412 sensors feature an integrated coaxial cable terminated with a self-locking miniature coaxial connector; users can configure the lengths of both the integrated and extension cables to meet specific application requirements. The IQS900 signal conditioner incorporates internal high-frequency modulation/demodulation circuitry that generates and supplies the required drive signal to the sensor. This drive signal generates the electromagnetic field required to measure the air gap. The signal conditioner's internal circuitry uses high-quality components and is housed in a surface-coated aluminum enclosure. The TQ402 and TQ412 sensors can be paired with a single EA402 extension cable to effectively extend the signal transmission distance. Furthermore, the system offers optional enclosures, junction boxes, and connection protection devices designed to provide mechanical and environmental protection for the connection point between the sensor's integral cable and the extension cable. |
