The KJ2005X1-MQ1 is an MQ controller in Emerson's DeltaV series, primarily used for communication and control between field devices and other nodes on a control network. The MQ controller is compatible with earlier DeltaV™ system configurations, possesses all the same functionality as the MD Plus controller, and can also be used for complete migration of legacy systems. The KJ2005X1-MQ1 MQ controller features a full-duplex Ethernet port with a maximum throughput of 100 MB/s, offering lower CPU utilization and higher control policy capacity compared to the MD controller. The MQ controller automatically connects to the DeltaV control network, automatically assigning a unique address upon power-up—no DIP switches or configuration required; it's plug-and-play. The KJ2005X1-MQ1 controller can identify all I/O interface channels on a subsystem. Once an I/O interface is plugged in, the controller can read the configuration characteristics of the field devices managed by that I/O interface. The controller also manages control activities for all I/O interface channels and all communication functions of the communication network, such as timestamps, alarms, and trend objects. In addition, this controller features a cold start function, automatically restarting after a power outage. Operators simply need to set the controller's restart status to the current state. The controller also has an automatic location function, making it easy for users to locate its physical location.
Another important application of the MQ controller is facilitating the migration of legacy systems (such as PROVOX and RS3 controllers). It supports the migration of PROVOX and RS3 I/O interfaces. Existing PROVOX input/output modules remain unchanged and are connected to the PROVOX system via the migration input/output interface, supporting up to 750 physical input/output signals. Serial datasets are migrated to DeltaV serial cards; since the DeltaV system can directly reference these modules, no virtual inputs/outputs are needed. Using the KJ2005X1-MQ1 MQ controller and RS3 migration input/output interface, the migration of RS3 systems to DeltaV systems can be fully supported. Starting with DeltaV v14.3, simply adding a CHARM I/O card (CIOC) to the DeltaV area control network allows you to assign CHARM and wireless devices to the KJ2005X1-MQ1 and KJ2005X1-MQ2 MQ controllers. |
