The KJ2005X1-BA2 MX controller provides communication and control between field devices and other nodes on the control network. Compared to the MD and MQ controllers, the MX controller offers increased capacity. While using the same I/O subsystem as the MD Plus or MQ controllers, the MX controller provides greater CPU and memory capacity, allowing for the configuration of large units in a single controller node. Previously, due to CPU, memory, or DST limitations, two MD Plus or MQ controllers were required for these configurations; now, these controllers can be combined into one. The VE3007 KJ2005X1-BA2 MX controller has the same mounting dimensions as the MQ controller, making it easy to upgrade from an MQ controller to an MX controller without altering any existing configurations, documentation, or hardware designs.
The KJ2005X1-BA2 MX controller offers a redundant architecture, supporting 1:1 redundancy for improved availability. The controller automatically recognizes itself and connects to the DeltaV control network. Upon power-up, the controller is automatically assigned a unique address; no DIP switches or configuration are required—it's plug-and-play. The controller features automatic positioning for easy location and automatic I/O detection. Once an I/O interface is plugged in, the controller can understand the general characteristics of the field devices managed by that I/O interface. The DeltaV controller is cold-startable and automatically restarts upon power failure. The KJ2005X1-BA2 MX controller's plug-and-play system architecture supports modular system expansion, allowing the number of controller nodes in a single DeltaV system to expand from a single controller to up to 100 controller nodes. Each controller's I/O subsystem can be expanded online. It can be installed in Class 1, Div 2, or ATEX Zone 2 environments. |
