The VE3006 KJ2003X1-BB1 MD Plus controller provides communication and control between field devices and other nodes on the control network. The MD Plus controller possesses all the features and functionality of the M5 Plus controller and has ample memory to meet the needs of large batch processing and other memory-intensive applications.
Compared to earlier versions of the M5 Plus controller, the VE3006 KJ2003X1-BB1 MD Plus controller is over 400% faster, and its user-configurable memory is more than three times that of the MD controller. The Ethernet port is full-duplex with a maximum throughput of 100MB/s. The MD Plus controller is powered on and requires no configuration; it automatically locates and provides automatic I/O detection. The VE3006 KJ2003X1-BB1 controller manages all control activities on the I/O interface channels and all communication functions on the communication network. The controller also manages timestamps, alarms, and trend objects. The controller executes all control policies at an execution speed of up to 100 milliseconds. The controller also features robust data protection, automatically storing installation information and user-modified settings. It can restart without manual intervention during power outages, provided no other devices are on the network. To prevent process interruptions due to short-term power outages, the controller is equipped with an uninterruptible power supply (UPS).
The VE3006 KJ2003X1-BB1 controller also supports legacy system migration. It provides the DeltaV platform for migrating PROVOX and RS3 controllers and supports migration I/O interfaces for both. Existing PROVOX I/O can still be connected to PROVOX via the migration I/O interface, supporting up to 750 physical I/O signals. Serial datasets are migrated to DeltaV serial cards, and since modules can be directly referenced in DeltaV systems, no virtual I/O is required. Using the MD Plus controller and RS3 migration I/O interface, migration from RS3 systems to DeltaV systems is fully supported. |
