The IS200EISBH1A Excitation ISBus Board is utilized within the GE EX2100 excitation control system to regulate the excitation of large-scale generator sets. Its primary function is to interconnect multiple excitation controllers, facilitating the real-time transmission and feedback of voltage and current signals.


The IS200EISBH1A features a standard single-slot 3U design and is installed directly beneath the DSPX module within the control rack. Through its fiber-optic interfaces and backplane bus connection, it enables seamless data exchange with the entire excitation system. The IS200EISBH1A supports the ISBus (In-Synch-Bus) protocol, allowing for real-time data exchange with the dual-redundant M1 and M2 master controllers, as well as the common controller; this capability ensures the coordinated operation of the multiple controllers within the excitation system. The backplane connector enables the bus board to communicate directly with the DSPX digital signal processor, facilitating the transmission of DSPX control commands and the feedback of excitation status data. The front panel of the IS200EISBH1A integrates multiple fiber-optic interfaces, which effectively isolate the board from the severe electromagnetic interference typically present in power plant environments. Upon receiving current and voltage feedback signals transmitted from the exciter, the IS200EISBH1A bus board processes these signals via its onboard optoelectronic conversion circuitry.
