Function & Application

The DS200TCQCG1B is an analog input/output expansion board for the GE Mark V control system, primarily used for scaling and conditioning megawatt-level sensor analog signals read from the terminal block of the input/output core. Pulse frequency inputs are also scaled and conditioned on the TCQC board. The DS200TCQCG1B features an onboard IONET terminal for efficient communication with a host computer and other input/output modules. In most applications, high-pressure shaft speed signals and occasional liquid fuel flow signals are scaled on the TCQC board and transmitted to the TCQA board via a JE connector.

 

The first 16 hardware jumpers on the DS200TCQCG1B input/output expansion board configure the output current range of the servo outputs. Even-numbered jumpers select feedback scaling, and odd-numbered jumpers select source output resistance. Hardware jumpers 25 through 36 provide additional feedback scaling options for servo motors 1 through 4, allowing a maximum current range of +/- 240 mA. BJ17 sets the RS232 port for board testing. BJ21 enables the stall timer. BJ22 enables the oscillator for factory testing. BJ23 and BJ24 are unused. BJ18 and BJ20 limit the power supply to P15 and N15 of the proximity sensor. Hardware jumpers JP38 and JP39 are used to set the magnetic pickup gain for liquid fuel flow signals in some applications.

 

TCQC Connectors

  • 2PL - Distributes power from the TCPS board to the <R1>, <R2>, and <R3> cores.
  • 8PL - Connects to the I/O connector of the STCA board in the <R1>, <R2>, and <R3> cores. Used to read the COM1 RS232 output signal, serial I/O signals, AC and DC power monitoring signals, and pulse frequency magnetic pickup signals.
  • 19PL - Connects to the I/O connector of the STCA board. Used to read megawatt, generator, bus, and compressor stall detection signals, as well as magnetic pickup pulse frequency signals from the high-voltage shaft. Power bus and neutral bus signals can also be transmitted through this connector.
  • JC - Connects to the power board TCPS, whose signals are transmitted via the TCQC board through the JE connector to the TCQA board, and via the 19PL connector to the STCA board.
  • JE - Writes power monitoring signals to the TCQA board and reads servo valve outputs, generator signals, and line signals from the TCQA board.
  • JFF - Writes servo outputs to the QTBA terminal board.
  • JGG - Writes servo outputs and 15-amp signals to the QTBA terminal board and reads magnetic pickup and megawatt-level sensor signals from the QTBA terminal board.
  • JH - Reads pulse rate signals and compressor stall signals from the TBQB terminal board.
  • JJ - Reads speed signals from the <R1> core TCQE board.
  • JX - Connector used to terminate IONET signals from the <P1> core TCEA board.
  • 1PL/6PL/17PL/VARC/JBU/ARCPL/CARC - Not typically used.
