The A6500-UM universal measurement card is a component of the AMS 6500 ATG mechanical protection system. This card features two input channels for sensors that can operate in combination or independently, compatible with most common sensors, including eddy current, piezoelectric accelerometers or velocities, seismic (electro-electric), LF (low-frequency bearing vibration), Hall effect, and LVDT (requires A6500-LC) sensors. The A6500-UM also includes five digital inputs and six digital outputs. Measurement signals are transmitted via an internal RS 485 bus to the A6500-CC communication card and converted to Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP/IP protocols for transmission to a host computer or analysis and control system. The A6500-UM supports hot-swapping, remote selection of limit multiplication functions, and trip bypass functions. The card also has a built-in self-test function that monitors the hardware operating status, power input, hardware temperature, sensors, and connecting cables in real time.
The A6500-UM universal measurement card also provides communication capabilities via a USB interface on the front panel for connecting to a PC to display module configuration and measurement results. Measurement results can also be output via 0/4 – 20 mA analog output terminals. The A6500-UM universal measurement card operates within the A6500-SR system rack, which also provides power supply voltage and signal connections.
