The XIO16T is an Input/Output module designed for the VM600Mk2/VM600 machinery monitoring system. It primarily functions as the signal interface for the XMx16 processing module, handling all analog signal conditioning tasks and supporting external communication capabilities. Furthermore, this module incorporates signal surge protection and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) shielding on all input channels to ensure the system complies with relevant Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) standards. All input channels on the XIO16T module are fully software-configurable. They can be configured to receive signals indicating rotational speed and phase references—such as those originating from the TQxxx series sensors—or to receive vibration signals derived from acceleration, velocity, and/or displacement parameters—such as those originating from the CAxxx, CExxx, CVxxx, and TQxxx series sensors. Provided that appropriate signal conditioning is applied, this input channel is capable of receiving any dynamic or quasi-static signal. The XIO16T module interfaces with transmission cables—originating from various sensors or measurement chains—via its backplane connector. Furthermore, by utilizing the Tacho bus and Raw bus integrated within the VM600Mk2/VM600 rack, input signals can be transmitted and shared directly between individual modules, thereby significantly reducing cabling requirements. Comprising the XMx16 processing module and the XIO16T input/output (interface) module, this pair provides 16 dynamic channels and 4 speed channels, enabling high-performance machinery condition monitoring. The XMV16 + XIO16T modules are primarily designed for machinery vibration monitoring applications, while the XMC16 + XIO16T modules are tailored for machinery combustion monitoring applications. When used in combination, this module pair is suitable for a wide range of scenarios, including machinery vibration monitoring and analysis, rotor dynamics analysis, rolling element bearing analysis, hydro-turbine air gap and magnetic flux monitoring and analysis, and combustion monitoring and analysis—including combustion dynamics and dynamic pressure pulsation analysis. The XMx16 + XIO16T modules provide all the interface and signal processing capabilities required for an intelligent data acquisition system; they are responsible for acquiring and analyzing vibration data, and for transmitting the analysis results directly to the host computer running the VibroSight® software. The XMx16 + XIO16T expansion condition monitoring modules represent the latest generation of condition monitoring technology and serve as a complete replacement for the legacy CMC16/IOC16T condition monitoring module pair.
