The 3009 is a main processor module for Triconex systems; it communicates independently with the I/O subsystem and executes control programs. In the Tricon redundant control system, all three MP modules operate autonomously, periodically comparing data and control programs.
Function
1. Executes preset control programs, processes field I/O data, and performs safety control logic.
2. TMR (Triple Modular Redundancy) Operation: The 3009 typically operates in a triple-redundant configuration with two other CPU modules, ensuring continued system operation in the event of a single-point failure.
3. Emergency Shutdown (ESD) Control: Responsible for timely execution of safety interlock protection when abnormal field conditions occur.
4. High-speed data communication: Communicates with I/O modules and other controllers via TriBus, synchronizing field device status feedback to the host system.
5. Real-time comprehensive self-diagnostics: Monitors the status of the CPU, memory, and buses.
3009 Specifications
1. Main processor: QorlQ P1021, dual core processor, 32KB L1 cache, 2MB L2 cache, 800MHz
2. Memory: 256 MB DRAM; 2 MB SRAM; 128 MB Flash PROM. DMA—The Direct Memory Access controller manages synchronization, data transfer, voting, and data error correction. DRAM—Dynamic Random Access Memory is used to store control programs, Sequence of Events (SOE) data, I/O data, diagnostic information, and communication buffer data. SRAM—Static Random Access Memory is used to store program-defined retentive data and configuration information for disabled points.
3. TriBus—A high-speed dedicated bus system responsible for inter-processor communication, majority voting on all digital input data, and comparison of control program variables.
