The IS215VPROH1BD turbine protection board is primarily used to control the Trip Emergency Terminal Board, providing emergency overspeed protection and emergency trip stop functions. Up to three trip solenoid valves can be connected between the TREG and TRPG terminal blocks. The TREG provides a 125V DC positive terminal to the solenoid valves, and the TRPG provides the negative terminal. The IS215VPROH1BD protection board controls 12 relays on the TREG, with 9 relays forming three groups of three, used for voting control of the three trip solenoid valves. The VPRO protection board can drive a second TREG board via J4. The three trip solenoid valves, energy-saving resistors, and emergency stop devices are directly connected to the first I/O terminal block. The VPRO also connects to the TPRO terminal block and has an Ethernet connection for IONet communication with the control module.
The VPRO entirely controls the IS200TREGH1B terminal board; its only connection to the control module is the J2 power line and the trip solenoid valves. In a simplex system, the third cable transmits the trip signal from J1 to the TSVO terminal block, providing servo valve clamping functionality when the turbine trips.
