Function & Application

The GE IS215UCVGH1A is a single-slot VME control board primarily used to control the operation of critical equipment such as turbines and generators, process internal data, and communicate with other components. The IS215UCVGH1A control board uses an Intel ultra-low-voltage Celeron processor at 650 MHz, equipped with 128 MB of flash memory and 128 MB of SDRAM. The control board provides two 10BaseT/100BaseTX (RJ-45 connector) Ethernet ports. The first Ethernet port is used to connect to a UDH for configuration and point-to-point communication. The second Ethernet port is used for a separate IP logical subnet, which can be used for Modbus or a dedicated Ethernet Global Data (EGD) network. The Ethernet ports require configuration via a toolbox; each time the rack is powered on, the controller verifies its toolbox configuration against the existing hardware.
