The IP172 500-172-000-011 is an interconnect protection device from Meggitt designed to provide basic mechanical and electrical protection for the connection between the TQxxx (TQ9xx or TQ4xx) proximity sensor’s integrated cable and the EAxxx (EA90x or EA40x) extension cable.

Installation Guide
The IP172 Interconnection Protection Installation Kit contains all components required to install and assemble the IP172 interconnection protection device on the miniature coaxial connectors of the TQxxx proximity measurement chain/system:
• IP172 installation tool
• IP172 interconnection protection device
• Silicone grease
The installation tool consists of two parts: one designed to fit the male micro-coaxial connector on the TQxxx proximity sensor’s integrated cable, and the other designed to fit the female micro-coaxial connector on the EAxxx extension cable. Once the tool is mounted on the cable, the corresponding IP172 interconnect protection sleeve (male or female) can be assembled onto the cable. Silicone grease serves as a lubricant designed to protect the interconnect protection sleeve from damage as it slides over the tool and the mini-coaxial connector and is ultimately installed on the cable.
