Function & Application
The IOCR2 card is a communication interface card within the VM600 monitoring system, primarily serving as the signal and communication interface for the CPUR2 control card. This interface card also provides protection for all input signals, shielding them from the effects of electromagnetic interference and signal surges. LED indicators on the IOCR2 front panel display the status of system Ethernet and fieldbus communications. The IOCR2 interface card includes two output relays, used to provide remote indication of system status and alarm information. Each relay can be mapped to any Modbus bit variable; typically, they are used to signal detected faults or issues via a common alarm signal. IOCR2 Connectors and Status Indicators J1 (FIELDBUS1): Serial-based Fieldbus 1 interface, used for communication between the CPUR2/IOCR2 board pair and a Fieldbus Master. J2 (FIELDBUS1): Ethernet-based Fieldbus 1 interface, used for communication between the CPUR2/IOCR2 board pair and a Fieldbus Client (Master). The J2 interface features independent Link and Activity LED indicators to display the status of the Fieldbus Ethernet link (FIELDBUS1). J3 (RL1 and RL2): Outputs (contacts) for relays RL1 and RL2. J4 (FIELDBUS2): Serial-based Fieldbus 2 interface, used for communication between the CPUR2/IOCR2 board pair (Fieldbus Server) and a Fieldbus Client (Master). J5 (FIELDBUS2): Ethernet-based Fieldbus 2 interface, used for communication between the CPUR2/IOCR2 board pair and a Fieldbus Client; LEDs are provided to indicate the status of the Fieldbus Ethernet link (FIELDBUS2). J6 (ETHERNET1): System Ethernet 1 interface, used for communication between the CPUR2/IOCR2 board pair and a computer, or between the board pair and XMx16 + XIO16T modules; LEDs are provided to indicate the status of the System Ethernet link (ETHERNET1). J7 (ETHERNET2): System Ethernet 2 interface, used for communication between the CPUR2/IOCR2 board pair and a computer, or between the board pair and XMx16 + XIO16T modules; LEDs are provided to indicate the status of the System Ethernet link (ETHERNET2). The CPUR2 and IOCR2 rack controller and communication interface card pair serves as the central processing unit for the VM600 machinery and condition monitoring system. Primarily functioning as the system rack controller and data communication gateway, this card pair features fieldbus data processing capabilities and supports both Modbus TCP and PROFIBUS DP protocols. The CPUR2 card must be used in conjunction with the IOCR2 card and is compatible exclusively with VM600 ABE04x system racks. The CPUR2/IOCR2 rack controller and communication interface card pair is an optional component that provides the VM600 system with a range of extended functionalities, including: configuration management; hot-swap capabilities with automatic reconfiguration; front-panel display; card-pair redundancy; fieldbus data processing; a front-panel Alarm Reset (AR) button; MPS rack safety protection; system and measurement event logging; fieldbus communication support (for Modbus, PROFIBUS, and/or PROFINET); and/or communication redundancy features.
