Function & Application

The CPUMMk2 is a central processing unit (CPU) module in the VM600Mk2 mechanical inspection system, primarily used for field communication and rack control. In field use, it is typically used in pairs with the IOCNMk2 input/output interface module to form the system's communication gateway. The CPUMMk2 can only be used in the VM600Mk2 system rack (ABE04x). It is a single-width module, occupying a single slot in the VM600Mk2 rack, typically installed in front slot 0 of the rack, and directly connected to the rack's backplane via two connectors. The CPUMMk2 CPU module communicates with other VM600Mk2 processing modules (MPC4Mk2 and AMCxMk2) in the rack via the rack's VME bus, and communicates with the XMx16 module via the system's Ethernet link to acquire measurement data from field devices, then shares this data with third-party DCS or PLC systems.

 

The CPUMMk2 + IOCNMk2 rack controller and communication interface module is an optional module that provides additional VM600Mk2 system functions, such as Modbus TCP, PROFIBUS DP fieldbus communication; module data aggregation, processing, and sharing; module-level fieldbus and rack-level module communication redundancy; front panel alarm reset (AR); MPS rack (CPUx) security; and system event and measurement event logging. As a rack controller for the VM600Mk2 monitoring system, the CPUMMk2 module can manage the configuration of XMx16 + XIO16T modules not connected to a VibroSight server. A safety key lock on the CPUMMk2 module's front panel can be used to enable the VM600Mk2 rack security functions. LEDs on the CPUMMk2 module's front panel indicate the CPUMMk2 + IOCNMk2 module's operating mode and status, as well as the status of its system Ethernet and fieldbus communication.

  • ETHERNET LINK/ACT1 and LINK/ACT2: Indicate the status of the system Ethernet port
  • FIELDBUS LINK/ACT1 and LINK/ACT2: Indicate the status of the fieldbus Ethernet port
  • FIELDBUS STATUS A1 and STATUS A2: Used to indicate the status of the fieldbus interface
  • FIELDBUS STATUS B1 and STATUS B2: Used to indicate the status of the fieldbus interface

 

The VM600Mk2 CPUMMk2 + IOCNMk2 rack controller and communication interface module is designed specifically for the second-generation VM600Mk2 rack-mount mechanical protection system. The CPUMMk2 module is the central processing unit (CPU) module, and the IOCNMk2 module is the input/output interface module. They are used in pairs as the data communication gateway between the system controller and the VM600Mk2 system. In critical applications, each VM600Mk2 system rack (ABE04x) can be equipped with two CPUMMk2 + IOCNMk2 modules to achieve rack-level communication redundancy. By default, the leftmost CPUMMk2 module in the rack is considered the master module, and the other module is the slave module. If the master CPUMMk2 module stops working due to removal or failure, the slave CPUMMk2 module will automatically take over, with a switchover time of up to 200 milliseconds.
