Function & Details

The 133442-01 is a Bently Nevada 3500/50M tachometer input/output module with internal terminals. Its main function is to provide accurate speed measurement and phase reference for large rotating machinery, handling the reception and conditioning of raw signals. The 133442-01 is a two-channel module that receives signals from eddy current probes and magnetoresistive sensors to accurately measure shaft rotation speed. Simultaneously, it can determine the rotor's rotation direction based on the signal phase relationship, thus predicting equipment damage caused by reverse rotation. The 133442-01 I/O module conditions the raw probe signal into a clean digital square wave and transmits it as a "key phase" signal to the 3500 frame. This provides a time reference for data sampling for all vibration monitoring modules. With this conditioned key-phase signal, the 3500 monitoring system can accurately calculate the vibration phase angle, plot shaft center trajectory and polar coordinate diagrams, and analyze potential faults such as speed imbalance and shaft misalignment. Because of this function of the 133442-01, in many cases, if the 133442-01 and the 3500/50M tachometer module are already installed in the 3500 system rack, there is no need to install a separate dedicated keyphase module, simplifying rack configuration. The 133442-01 input/output module can also compare measured values ​​with set alarm points in real time. When parameters such as speed and acceleration exceed preset thresholds, an alarm will be triggered immediately to allow for timely measures to protect field equipment.

 

The 3500/50M tachometer module is a dual-channel module that can receive input signals from proximity probes or magnetic pickups to determine shaft rotation speed, rotor acceleration, or rotor direction. The 3500/50M tachometer module compares these measurements with user-programmable alarm settings and issues an alarm if the set value is exceeded. However, it's important to note that the 3500/50M tachometer module (including 133442-01) cannot be used alone or as a component in a speed control or overspeed protection system. It is primarily for monitoring, display, and alarm functions. If overspeed protection is required, other modules specifically designed for this purpose (such as the 3500/53 or 3500/54 overspeed protection modules) must be used within the system.
