The DP243 is a Vibro-Meter pendulum-type probe based on TQ 402 eddy current proximity measurement technology. It is a non-contact displacement measurement probe primarily used for precision monitoring of oscillation, displacement, or axial/radial relative motion in mechanical equipment. Its operating principle involves a TQ402 series eddy current displacement sensor installed inside the DP243’s swing head. The sensor detects relative displacement between the target object and the probe using the eddy current principle; the target object is mechanically connected to the swing arm, and its displacement is proportional to the displacement of the swing body’s magnetic base. Through the length ratio between the vertical and horizontal arms in the swing arm structure, the mechanical displacement is converted into a measurable displacement signal. The DP243 is primarily used for shaft displacement monitoring in large rotating machinery; mechanical condition monitoring of equipment such as steam turbines, compressors, and pumps; high-temperature environments requiring non-contact displacement measurement; and industrial machinery protection systems requiring long-distance signal transmission. It should be noted that the DP243 is a passive sensor; it cannot output a signal directly and must be used in conjunction with an IQS450 series signal conditioner to provide high-frequency excitation and perform signal demodulation and processing.

System Composition
The DP243 cannot operate independently and requires several components to form a complete measurement system:
1. The DP243 pendulum-type probe is equipped with a TQ402 sensor (redundancy configuration available), primarily used for mechanical displacement conversion; target position detection, and outputting the TQ402 eddy current signal.
2. IQS450 Signal Conditioner, used to provide high-frequency excitation power to the TQ402; it performs oscillation and demodulation processing on the eddy current signal and outputs a standard signal for use by the downstream monitoring system.
3. EA402 Extension Cable, used to connect the DP243 to the IQS450
4. If a 4…20 mA output is required, the TWW212 transmitter must be configured separately.
Two/Three-wire Transmission
The DP243 supports two transmission methods:
1. Two-wire transmission (2-wire), using current modulation; maximum transmission distance of 1,000 m, nominal sensitivity of 1.25 µA/µm, suitable for long-distance mechanical monitoring systems. If connecting to a non-Vibro-Meter standard mechanical monitoring system, the GSI124 electrical isolation module must be added.
2. Three-wire transmission (3-wire) uses voltage modulation; it can be directly connected to general-purpose mechanical monitoring systems; maximum transmission distance is 200 m, with a nominal sensitivity of 4 mV/µm
