Function & Application
GE's Multilin™ UR and UR Plus series of protection and control relays are built on a common modular platform. All UR products feature high-performance protection, scalable I/O options, integrated monitoring and metering, high-speed communication, and robust programming and configuration capabilities. URs can be used as standalone devices or integrated into overall power automation systems, providing a simplified power management foundation for the protection of critical assets. URs are available in various configurations and are offered as 19-inch rack-mount horizontal units or small (¾) vertical units. URs consist of the following modules: power supply, CPU, CT/VT input, digital inputs/outputs, sensor inputs/outputs, inter-relay communication, communication switches, and IEC process bus. The UR8FH is a voltage and current transformer in the UR series, primarily used for monitoring input current and voltage. Key Advantages Modular Structure: Universal plug-and-play hardware modules save maintenance costs and simplify operation; flexible and customizable equipment. Human Machine Interface (HMI) and alarm panel provide local monitoring capabilities and can serve as a backup for substation HMIs. Phase Measurement Unit (Synchronous Phasor) can directly transmit data from existing protection equipment.
