The KJ2201X1-PW1 is a SIS Smart Logic Solver from Emerson that primarily uses HART to diagnose field devices and drive 16 input/output channels to perform safety instrumented functions such as emergency shutdown. The KJ2201X1-PW1 operates within a temperature range of -40°C to 70°C and requires a 24 VDC ±20% power supply.
Main Functions
1. The KJ2201X1-PW1 features a built-in dual CPU and 16 input/output channels. Each channel can be flexibly configured as a discrete input, discrete output, analog input (HART), or HART binary output. All channels are optically isolated from the system with a withstand voltage of 1500 VDC; however, there is no isolation between channels, and each channel includes line fault detection.
2. The KJ2201X1-PW1 is typically configured in a redundant setup within a control system, with both modules simultaneously reading inputs, executing logic, and driving outputs. One module (Active) communicates with both the engineer station/operator station and the safety network, while the other (Standby) communicates only on the safety network (SISNet).
3. The module automatically logs events such as input/output faults and emergency stop thresholds while function blocks are executing.
LED Status Indicators
The logic solver panel features three indicator lights: green (Power), red (Error), and yellow (Active/Standby).

3. Green light steady + yellow light (Active/Standby) flashing — Debugged but not yet configured, or configuration in progress

5. Green light steady + red light steady + yellow light (Active/Standby) flashing or not flashing — An error was detected during the power-on self-test; the module hardware requires repair
