Functions
1. High-voltage attenuation and signal scaling: The primary function of the IS200EXAMG1B is to attenuate high-voltage signals from the excitation rectifier bridge, converting them into precise low-level signals for transmission to the Excitation Ground Detection Module (EGDM), thereby ensuring accurate ground fault detection.
2. Injection of a low-frequency AC excitation signal into the electrical center of the excitation winding.
3. Acquisition of the voltage across the sensing resistor and transmission of this signal to the EGDM.
EXAM & EGDM
The EXAM and EGDM are interconnected via the Excitation Power Backplane (EPBP), together forming a complete protection chain. The EXAM serves as the high-voltage front-end, responsible for attenuating high-voltage excitation signals to safe levels and transmitting them to the EGDM; the EGDM acts as the low-voltage back-end, responsible for measuring the resistor voltage transmitted by the EXAM and determining the grounding status and fault conditions. With their distinct roles, both the EXAM and EGDM are indispensable modules within the excitation ground detection system.
