The IS200EPSMG1A is an excitation power supply board designed for use with GE Mark VIe / EX2100 excitation control systems. Its primary function is to convert the 125 V DC input voltage received from the EPDM board into the various output voltages required by the control system. The board's circuitry consists of two main sections: a step-down (buck) regulator and a push-pull inverter. The step-down regulator first converts the external input voltage to an intermediate 50 V DC level, after which the push-pull inverter generates the required multiple output voltages.

1. +5 V DC: Powers the logic circuits of controllers M1, M2, and C
2. +15 V DC: Powers the controllers' internal analog circuits
3. +24 V DC (In-rack): Powers the controller backplane
4. +24 V DC (Out-of-rack): Powers the EDEX field discharge module, Crowbar module, EGDM, and EDCF
5. Isolated +70 V DC: Used for contact wetting on EXTB and ECTB boards

The EPDM (Excitation Power Distribution Module) supplies 125 V DC input power directly to the IS200EPSMG1A. The EPSM then steps down, isolates, and converts this power into the multiple voltage levels required by various system components. Together, they handle power distribution for the EX2100 system: EPDM → EPSM → Controllers and peripheral modules. The system shown in the image on the left utilizes three independent EPSM modules corresponding to the three controller slots (M1, M2, and C). Each provides independent power, ensuring that a single-point failure does not compromise overall system operation.
