The T8461 is a 40-channel digital output module in the ICS Triplex Trusted TMR safety control system. It is primarily used to receive safety logic from the Trusted controller and drive field devices to perform relevant actions. After performing program calculations, the controller sends output commands to the T8461, which then drives field devices such as solenoid valves, intermediate relays, contactors, alarms, indicator lights, and ESD actuators.
Main Functions
1. The T8461 module provides 40 independent digital output channels; each output channel can be controlled independently and features independent fault detection capabilities.
2. TMR triple-redundant output: The system continuously compares output voltage, current, and output status. Even if one slice fails, the remaining two slices can maintain correct output and automatically isolate the faulty slice.
3. The T8461 module continuously and automatically monitors the circuits, promptly detecting issues such as open circuits, short circuits, load abnormalities, and wiring faults, which are recorded in real time via SOE.
4. Each output channel features independent overcurrent protection. If a channel experiences excessive load, a short circuit, or an output circuit fault, the T8461 will protect the corresponding channel without affecting the other 39 output channels.
5. The module is grouped into 8-channel power supply groups; the 40 outputs are divided into 5 independent power groups, with 8 outputs per group. If a power group fails, only the corresponding 8 outputs are affected, while the remaining output groups continue to operate normally.
6. Supports hot-swapping
Applications
1. Emergency shutdown systems for controlling ESD valves, solenoid valves, and shut-off devices.
2. Fire and gas (F&G) systems for driving audible and visual alarms, fire alarm interlocks, and fire suppression equipment.
3. Steam turbine control systems for controlling trip relays, interlocks, and protection outputs.
4. Petrochemical plants for controlling pumps, compressors, interlock valves, and safety actuators.
