The T8403 is a 40-channel, 24 VDC digital input module in the ICS TRiplex Trusted TMR system. It is primarily used to acquire discrete signals from the field (such as pushbuttons, limit switches, relay contacts, and ESD signals) and upload the processed digital status to the Trusted TMR Processor.

T8403 Operating Principle
The entire module can be divided into four functional sections: FTU (Field Termination Unit), FIU (Field Interface Unit), HIU (Host Interface Unit), and FPU (Front Panel Unit). The signal flow is as follows:

—It continuously monitors the 24V input voltage, internal power supply, current, board temperature, SmartSlot voltage, DAC reference voltage, and diagnostic error codes—a total of 51 diagnostic items—for fault localization.
2. What should I do if the T8403 module displays “Fatal,” and the LEDs show all three “Healthy” indicators as red, “Active” flashing red, “Standby” flashing red, and “Educated” flashing yellow?
—It is recommended to remove the module, reinsert it, and restart the system. If the problem persists, the entire module must be replaced.
3. How should I troubleshoot a T8403 failure?
—(1) Check the front-panel LED status
(2) Review the application variables: DI, STATE, AI, LINE_FLT, DISCREP, HKEEPING, and INFO
