Function & Application
The primary function of the Emerson A6220 shaft eccentricity monitor is to accurately monitor shaft eccentricity and protect mechanical equipment by comparing vibration parameters to alarm setpoints, thereby triggering alarms and relays. The A6220 shaft eccentricity monitoring system consists of a displacement sensor that can be mounted externally or internally on the bearing housing, targeting the eccentric ring near the thrust bearing. The displacement sensor is a non-contact sensor used to measure shaft movement proportional to shaft bending or deformation, suitable for speeds below 600 rpm. For large sliding bearing machinery, shaft eccentricity monitoring is an important measurement for predictive maintenance and protective monitoring. The advantages of the Emerson A6220 shaft eccentricity monitor are as follows: Dual-channel, 3U size, single-slot plug-in module, reducing cabinet space requirements by half compared to traditional four-channel 6U size cards Compliant with API670 standard, supports hot-swapping Remotely selectable limit multipliers and trip bypass Buffered and proportional outputs available on both front and rear panels, 0/4-20 mA output, 0-10 V output Self-test functions include monitoring hardware, power input, hardware temperature, sensors, and cables Compatible with displacement sensors 6422, 6423, 6424, and 6425, drivers CON XXX, and critical monitoring modules
