The IS200DSPXH1DBD Digital Signal Processor Control Board (DSPX) is the primary controller for the bridge rectifier, motor regulator, and gating functions of InnovationSeries™ drives. It also controls the excitation function of the EX2100 exciter. The IS200DSPXH1DBD board performs most of the I/O interface and inner-loop bridge control and protection functions. The DSPX board is the main controller, sharing control responsibilities with the ACLA board. It is a single-slot, 3U high module located next to the ACLA board in the control rack. It provides the following functions, including bridge-triggered circuit control, I/O processing, and inner-loop regulation:
As shown in the diagram below, the IS200DSPXH1DBD board contains a high-performance digital signal processor (DSP), standard memory components, and an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) for executing custom logic functions. The IS200DSPXH1DBD's digital signal processor (DSP) operates at 60 MHz. During normal operation, the DSP provides four external interrupts: stack overflow (INTo); inner loop load pulse (INT1); and two configurable inputs (NT2, INT3). The IS200DSPXH1D board provides four types of memory: FLASH memory for storing the DSP boot image, code execution and configurable items, and system history; RAM for data storage and code execution; NVRAM for non-volatile data storage; and read-only memory for board version identification. |

The GE EX2100 Excitation control system is a VME rack with onboard cables connecting to the I/O terminal board. The rack is divided into three independently powered sections for the M1, M2, and C controllers. Each controller consists of a control board and an I/O processor board. If the rack contains only the M1 controller, it is a simplex control system; if the rack contains all three controllers, it is a redundant control system. The control board and I/O processor board are as follows:
Simplex Control System
Redundant Control System
The DSPX board is mounted in the rack and connected to the backplane via a 4-row 128-pin DIN connector (P1). In the EX2100, the DSPX connects to another board, the EISB.
