Function & Application
The ABB AO845/AO845A analog output module is suitable for single or redundant applications and features eight 4-20 mA unipolar analog output channels. One group of eight channels is isolated from ground. The analog inputs have short-circuit protection to ground or to +24 V. The AO845A also supports HART pass-through communication. The AO845A 3BSE045584R1 output module performs periodic self-diagnostics. Module diagnostics as below. An external channel error is reported if the power supply voltage to the output circuit is too low, or if the output current is less than the output setpoint and the output setpoint > 1 mA (open circuit) (reported only on active channels). An internal channel error is reported if the output circuit cannot provide the correct current value. In a redundant configuration, the module bus master will place the module in an error state. A module error is reported if there is an output transistor failure, short circuit, checksum error, internal power supply failure, status link error, watchdog failure, or abnormal OSP behavior.
Other Information
The S800 I/O is a distributed, modular I/O system that communicates with the controller via PROFIBUS-DP/DPV1 or directly (via the module bus). The S800 I/O system is DIN rail-mounted and consists of a fieldbus communication interface, a module bus modem, S800 I/O modules, and module terminal units (MTUs). The S800 I/O modules are mounted on the MTUs, thus supporting hot-swapping. Several MTUs are available depending on installation requirements (horizontal or vertical) and field wiring needs (power supply, fuses, etc.). The S800 I/O system supports fully redundant applications, allowing for redundancy at both the communication level and the I/O module level. 1.
