Function & Details	The 18745-04 is a proximity sensor in the Bently Nevada 7200 series 5 mm and 8 mm sensor system. The 7200 5 mm and 8 mm proximity sensor systems are non-contact gap-voltage sensors that measure the static and dynamic distance between the probe tip and a target object. They can be applied to any scenario requiring accurate non-contact displacement measurement. The most common applications are measuring the shaft position and vibration of rotating and reciprocating machinery. The 7200 5 mm and 8 mm systems have a frequency response range of 0 Hz (DC) to 10 kHz and can be used for the following types of measurements: Radial vibration, used to indicate bearing condition and machine faults, such as rotor imbalance and misalignment. Axial thrust position, used to determine thrust bearing wear or potential bearing failure. Average radial position of the shaft, used to determine attitude angles (an indicator of rotor stability). Vibration amplitude and phase are used to plot diagnostic information in polar coordinates and Bode plot forms. Eccentricity is used to measure rotor bending. The 18745-04 proximity sensor works on the principle of eddy currents. The proximity probe senses the distance between its tip and the surface being measured. The proximity sensor generates a radio frequency signal, which is radiated from the probe tip to the surface. Eddy currents are generated on the surface, and the attenuation of the returned signal strength is detected by the proximity sensor. The proximity sensor processes the signal for linear display on the monitor. The 7200 proximity sensor system consists of a probe with an integrated coaxial cable, an extension cable, and a preamplifier, providing a 2 mm linear measurement range. All 7200 proximity sensor systems are compatible with the 3300 and 9000 monitoring systems, and the 7200 system can be upgraded to the 3300 XL NSv Transducer System.
