Yokogawa Establishes Green Sustainability Guiding Principles

On September 1, 2025, Yokogawa established its "Trusted Green" sustainability guiding principles, encompassing the entire life cycle of Yokogawa Group products, from planning and development to parts and material procurement, production, service, collection, and recycling.
For many years, Yokogawa has been committed to establishing environmental design standards for its products, developing life cycle assessment (LCA) standards for product design, disclosing LCA information for core products, and evaluating the environmental performance of its production plants. In addition to these ongoing initiatives, Yokogawa has re-examined its approach to sustainable products with the goal of achieving a circular economy and has established its "Trusted Green" sustainability guiding principles, which take into account the entire product supply chain and life cycle.
The Trusted Green guiding principles are based on three pillars: providing highly reliable products, reducing environmental impact throughout the product life cycle, and building a circular ecosystem.
1. Providing High-Reliability Products
Yokogawa recognizes that providing highly reliable products can significantly contribute to resolving environmental issues. Yokogawa will continue to strengthen collaboration between development, production, and service to reduce the environmental impact of its customers' operations.
2. Reducing the Environmental Footprint Throughout the Product Lifecycle
Yokogawa is committed to reducing the environmental footprint of its products throughout their entire lifecycle, including parts and material manufacturing, product production and transportation, and electricity consumption during use. Yokogawa will further consider energy conservation, repair, and recycling in product design.
3. Building a Circular Ecosystem
For customers whose production facilities operate for a long time and require the replacement of thousands of existing equipment, Yokogawa will fully consider the recycling of old products during replacement planning and implementation. Furthermore, equipment design will prioritize continuity, enabling the reuse of information and engineering data.
Based on its vision for society in 2050, Yokogawa has set three sustainability goals: achieving net-zero emissions to curb climate change; ensuring well-being and quality of life for all; and transitioning to a circular economy based on efficient resource circulation. Adhering to its guiding principle of "Trustworthy Green," Yokogawa will contribute to the realization of a sustainable society by providing environmentally friendly, safe, and highly reliable products.
