The Bently Nevada 3500 ENCORE* System

The 3500 ENCORE series is designed to provide a cost-effective upgrade path for legacy 3300 monitoring systems, and now offers two convenient upgrade options. Both options provide continuous online monitoring and are suitable for machinery protection applications.
1. The 3500 ENCORE system is designed as a stand-alone device that can be directly installed into existing 3300 panels
2. The 3500 ENCORE rack upgrade kit retains the 3300 chassis, I/O modules, and field cabling, while upgrading the power supply, system monitor, and monitoring modules
The system’s highly modular design incorporates the following components:

1. 3500/07E Instrument Chassis (required)
2. 3500/10E Power Supply (required, 120/230 VAC)
3. 3500/23E Transient Data Interface (required)
4. 3500 Rack Configuration Software (required)
5. One or more 3500/42E Vibration Monitor Modules with I/O
6. One or more 3500/45E Position Monitor Modules with I/O
7. One or more 3500/50E Tachometer Modules with I/O
8. One or more 3500/61E 6-Channel Temperature Modules with I/O
9. One or more 3500/33E 16-Channel Relay Modules with I/O
10. Color front panel displays
The 3500 ENCORE chassis supports 6P, 8P, 10P, 12P, and 14P 3300 rack upgrades. The chassis includes an EMI shielding cage, backplane, and interface modules. Rack upgrades utilize existing 3300 I/O modules and power input modules. Interface modules are installed between the old and new backplanes. They are used to reduce damage to the old backplane during the upgrade process and serve as part of the new system shielding. The upgraded rack provides a single power and system monitor slot in the leftmost rack position, dedicated to these modules. The remaining slots in the rack can accommodate any combination of monitors. All modules are inserted into the new backplane of the chassis, each consisting of a main module and an associated I/O module. The rack depth is 424 mm (16.7 inches).
Digital and Analog Communication
The 3500 ENCORE system features independent concurrent digital communication capabilities, connecting via Ethernet to System 1* machine management software using Bently Nevada's proprietary protocols. The system uses industry-standard RS-232, RS422, RS-485, or Ethernet interfaces. The 3500 configuration and display software also provides analog (4 to 20 mA and relay) outputs for connecting to legacy plant control systems that do not support digital interfaces.
The 3500 ENCORE system is designed for continuous, permanent monitoring of rotating machinery across a wide range of industries. Applicable machinery types include, but are not limited to:
Industrial gas turbines and steam turbines for power generation and mechanical drives;Compressors (air/process gas, radial/axial, centrifugal/positive displacement);Turbine expanders;Electric motors and generators;Exciters;Gearboxes;Pumps (centrifugal and positive displacement);Fans;Blowers.
