ABB releases three new robot series

ABB announced that based on its more than 30 years of technological accumulation in the Chinese market, it officially launched three robot series: Lite+, PoWa and the new generation IRB 1200, to help China's advanced manufacturing industry transform and upgrade with an innovative product portfolio. All new products are produced locally by ABB's Shanghai Super Factory, precisely targeting the rapidly growing automation needs in the fields of electronic manufacturing, consumer goods processing and general industry, covering a variety of scenarios from basic material handling to precision gluing and polishing.
It is disclosed that all three series are equipped with ABB's self-developed OmniCore™ controller platform, which realizes the deep integration of artificial intelligence, sensors and edge computing technologies, giving robot applications higher autonomy. This strategic layout coincides with the explosive growth of China's mid-range robot market (the compound growth rate from 2021 to 2024 will reach 24%). Ma Sikang, global president of ABB's Robotics Business Unit, said that the company will lower the threshold of automation through modular and AI-driven solutions, enabling small and medium-sized enterprises to embrace smart production.
