The ABA173 830-173-000-011 is a rugged, durable low-carbon steel industrial enclosure from Meggitt Vibro-meter, designed to serve as a protective housing for Meggitt signal conditioners (such as the IPC70x, IQS9xx, and IQS45x series). The ABA173 enclosure features a lockable hinged door and contains two DIN rails (2 x 275 mm) inside, accommodating up to eight signal conditioners. The enclosure offers a variety of cable connection options for connecting various types of sensors and extension cables for input and output. Its rugged construction protects the equipment inside from dirt, water, and mechanical damage, and withstands splashes of oil, water, or corrosive substances that may occur in harsh industrial environments (such as offshore operations or petrochemical applications); it also prevents accidental contact with the internal equipment.
Housing Features
1. Robust Construction: The main body of the ABA17x industrial enclosure is fabricated from a single sheet of steel through bending and welding processes, resulting in an extremely robust structure. The enclosure features protective grooves around the door frame and is equipped with a lockable hinged door and sealing gaskets, ensuring compliance with IP66 as well as NEMA 4, 4X, 12, and 13 protection ratings.
2. Special Material: The enclosure is manufactured from low-carbon steel and undergoes iron phosphate pretreatment and a powder coating process to create a robust, durable, and corrosion-resistant surface suitable for indoor industrial environments.
3. Explosion-Proof Features: The Ex version of the ABA17x enclosure, designed for potentially explosive atmospheres (hazardous areas), is manufactured from 316L stainless steel (uncoated) and meets the NEMA 4X protection rating to provide superior corrosion resistance.
4. Easy Installation: The ABA17x industrial enclosure is equipped with four external mounting brackets that can be attached to the rear of the enclosure for safe and convenient wall-mounted installation. Since the door opening of the ABA17x does not extend beyond the enclosure’s external dimensions, multiple enclosures can be installed closely side-by-side without interfering with one another.
5. Easy External Wiring: The rear of each ABA17x enclosure features a galvanized steel equipment mounting plate equipped with horizontal DIN rails for mounting signal conditioners or other devices.

—The following cables can be connected to the E/F/G models:
1) The E-type combination cable gland is suitable for use with TQxx2 / EAx02 and TQxx3 / EAx03 in combination with flexible hoses (optional protection).
2) The Type F combination cable gland is suitable for use with the TQx01 / EAx01 in conjunction with a hose (optional protection).
3) The Type G combination cable gland is suitable for use with the CV210 / IVC632 in conjunction with ED109 or ED112 cables.
2. What are the differences between the three industrial enclosures—ABA171, ABA172, and ABA173?
—These three enclosures serve the same purpose: they are protective housings for Meggitt IPC70x, IQS9xx, and IQS45x series signal conditioners. All are available in standard and explosion-proof versions. The only difference is that the internal dimensions of the enclosures increase progressively, accommodating up to 2, 4, and 8 signal connectors, respectively.
